The health of the school child? An historical comparison of inspection schemes in Britain and Norway.

This paper examines inherent tensions between the medical glaze and that of an extended glaze, and the ways in which they historically have been brought out as conflicts over inspection schemes in the school medical service. Following an outline of two contrasting models of inspection, the empirical anallysis compares the early formation and shaping of inspection schemes in Britain and Norway.
